About us
Built by a group chat that loves sports
TeamDrafts started with friends arguing about sports year round and realizing there was no fantasy format built for the way we actually watched games.
Our group has always been all over the place when it comes to sports. Some of us care most about college football Saturdays. Others follow the NBA every night. A few wake up early for Premier League matches or spend entire weekends watching golf majors.
The problem was that most fantasy sports formats only focused on one league at a time, and usually required constant lineup management to stay competitive. It felt more like maintenance than fun.
The idea behind TeamDrafts
We wanted a format where everyone could bring their own sports knowledge to the table, even if they followed completely different leagues.
That meant building a game where someone who watches SEC football every weekend could draft against someone obsessed with Champions League soccer, PGA Tour events, or the NBA playoffs.
Instead of drafting players, you draft franchises and teams you believe in. Then you follow the season as those teams chase playoff spots, trophies, tournament runs, and championships.
The strategy becomes long term. The conversations become better. And suddenly everyone in the group chat has a reason to care about sports they normally would not watch.
A simpler kind of fantasy sports
We also wanted to remove the parts of fantasy sports that burn people out. No waiver wire panic. No injury spreadsheets. No setting lineups five minutes before kickoff.
TeamDrafts is built around one draft and a season of watching things unfold. Once the draft ends, your roster locks. From there, it is all about following the teams you picked and seeing whose strategy actually works.
Where we are now
TeamDrafts is still early, and that is part of the fun. We are actively building, improving, and shaping the platform around real feedback from the people using it.
The platform currently supports 10 sports, customizable scoring, multi-sport leagues, and live drafts. We have a lot more planned, and most of it comes directly from conversations with early users.
If you have ideas, feedback, or sports you want to see added, we would genuinely love to hear from you.
