Everything you need to know about how TeamDrafts works.
TeamDrafts is a fantasy sports platform where you draft entire professional teams instead of individual players. You build a roster of franchises across one or more sports, and earn points when those teams achieve real-world milestones like playoff berths, division titles, and championships.
Traditional fantasy sports require daily lineup management, waiver-wire pickups, and tracking individual player stats. TeamDrafts is simpler: you make your picks in one draft, rosters lock, and then the season plays out. No trades, no waivers, no daily decisions just draft strategy and real-world results.
We currently support 10 sports: NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, College Football (NCAAF), College Basketball (NCAAB), WNBA, MLS, English Premier League (EPL), and Golf. We're always looking to add more based on user requests.
Yes! That's one of the best parts. When creating a league, the commissioner can include any combination of sports and seasons. You could draft NFL, MLB, and EPL teams all in the same contest.
Drafts happen live in real-time with your league members. It's a snake draft format the pick order reverses each round. When it's your turn, you select an available professional team. Once the draft is complete, rosters are locked for the entire duration of the contest.
Points are awarded when your drafted teams achieve real-world milestones. For example, an MLB team making the playoffs might earn 5 points, winning a division title 8 points, and winning the World Series 35 points. Commissioners set the exact point values for each achievement when creating a league.
Commissioners can adjust the point values for every achievement type. However, the achievement categories themselves (playoff berth, division title, championship, etc.) are standardized per sport you can't invent entirely new scoring categories. This keeps things fair and consistent.
Nothing you need to manage! Rosters lock after the draft. As real-world seasons play out and teams achieve milestones, points are awarded automatically. You can check your league standings anytime to see how your roster is performing.
No. Once you draft your teams, your roster is locked for the entire contest. This is by design it puts all the strategy into the draft itself and eliminates the daily management grind.
Leagues can be as small as 2 players (head-to-head) or larger groups. The commissioner sets the league size when creating the contest.
Yes, TeamDrafts is completely free to use. No credit card required, no premium tiers, no ads.
When you create a league, you'll get an invite code. Share that code with your friends and they can join your league directly. No need to share email addresses.
Scores are updated as real-world results are confirmed typically within a day or two of a milestone being achieved, such as a team clinching a playoff spot or winning a championship.
